WebDarsham House was built in 1697 by George Purvis, a Commissioner in the Royal Navy and MP for the borough of Aldeburgh. The estate was sold in 1885 to the Parry-Crooke family. Both families were generous benefactors to the village. The Church of All Saints has an embattled tower with four bells.
